Re: CBRRA congratulates the Camps Bay community organizations for the arrest and sentencing of John Mthambo

The CBRRA extends its congratulations to the members of the Camps Bay Watch and the CBCSI, the Camps Bay Police Forum and SAPS for the incredible work done on the John Mthambo case.

It is gratifying that these organisations working together with the community ensure that criminals are tracked down, arrested and sentenced. You deserve full credit this and we would like to congratulate you for the tremendous work done on a daily basis in our community.

Yours truly,
Charles Wells
CBBRA (Chairperson)

Subject: CBRRA congratulates CBCommunity Groups - Thank you

    Hi Charles,

Thank you very much for that. It was a great team effort in which all branches of the community pulled together. Testimony in court by an “ordinary” resident of Camps Bay was also critical to the final sentence and we are extremely grateful for all the help that we received.

We plan to petition the NPA to continue with the concept of the quick turnaround “tourist” courts as they seem to bear a disproportionate share of the crime in Camps Bay. Speedy conviction of those suspects is a benefit to us all.

We are currently following up on a number of leads relating to other suspects who are responsible for house break-ins and robberies in the area. We hope to be in a position to announce further arrests soon.

We appreciate your support and also the participation of CBRRA members in CBW and CBCSI.

    Kind regards
