Dear Ian and Ian,
Thanks for the update which, as always, is appreciated.
The situation in Hove Road has reached diabolical proportions and it only a matter of time before there is a huge motor collision or someone gets hit by a speeding car/truck/bus and gets killed.
Cars are flying up and down Hove Road at crazy speeds 24 hours a day as if it is a speedway/motor racing track without any thought or care about safety of people and other cars.
In addition there are massive construction and other trucks as well as My Citi buses also using the road and trying to manoeuvre between cars parked on both sides of the street.
The speeding cars then slam on brakes outside our house, as they realise at the very last minute that there is a blind corner ahead and 24/7 I hear screeching blades and blasting hooters and expect to hear a “Big Bang”, which thankfully has not happened as yet. When cars come flying around the blind corner from both directions at high speeds, it is a miracle that so far there has not been a huge smash. These are not residents of Hove Road, but the thousands of additional cars now having to use Hove Road.
To make matters worse, cars are parking anywhere at the moment. Sometimes cars are parked opposite my driveway gate which does not allow me clear entry and exit – I have asked for a RED line to be painted there, but it just falls on deaf ears. I guess nothing will be done until someone gets killed, unless Ian is able to have this actioned promptly.
Likewise immediately to the left of my driveway,  we now have cars parked right up to my driveway, so there is no room to turn left without having to cut across to the wrong side of the road and into the face of oncoming speeding traffic. I need some space.
I seriously urge someone to immediately fit speed bumps in Hove Road, especially at the blind corner next to our house, before a disaster hits, likewise to paint a RED line opposite our driveway and a short RED line just to the left of my driveway to allow my wife and I enough space to safely get into the road. The RED line to the left of our driveway can be 120cms long 94 rulers in length) which will be enough to allow us to make the sharp left turn safely without having to head straight intop oncoming traffic on the other side of the road.
In addition, my car is large, so therefore needs that extra bit of additional space. We are in 24 Hove Road.
Many thanks in advance and I hope you will take heed of the above contents as a matter of extreme urgency.
Kind regards

Jerome Ruch
