Dear Camps Bay Ratepayers and Residents Association (CBRRA)
Further to a previous email titled 'The Essence of Democratic Local Government' of 6th June. This communication dealt with Proposed Amendments to the System of Delegations for Economic, Environmental and Spatial Planning (EESP) and was sent to the Honourable Mayor Patricia de Lille.
The issue of 'Amendments to the System of Delegations for (EESP)' is again on the Agenda for next week 6th / 7th August (Tuesday / Wednesday) and we urge your association to communicate an appeal to the Mayor through your council representatives to reject this proposal in its current form.
In this regard, please find the (attached) 'Position Statement of the Green Point Ratepayers' & Residents' Association' which we strongly suggest you to endorse and send to your Subcouncil Chairperson and your Councillor(s), together with a covering letter (example supplied below). Please send us a copy of your submission.
Example for covering letter :
We hereby write formally to inform you that the Camps Bay Ratepayers and Residents Association (CBRRA) fully endorses the Position Statement of the Green Point Ratepayers' & Residents' Association concerning the Proposed Amendments to the System of Delegations for Economic, Environmental and Spatial Planning. That Position Statement is attached.
We understand that this Proposal, which was deferred from consideration at the Council's 29/30 May meeting, is scheduled to be tabled again on 06 or 07 August. When this matter is discussed and voted upon in Council we shall be pleased if you would give full weight to our Association's view on this proposed amendment to the System of Delegations for Economic, Environmental and Spatial Planning.
